PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS

 

This program is aimed at foreign students and also local students pursuing their education in Malaysian higher learning institutions. It is conducted in a homestay manner where students will get the chance to learn and experience the “kampung” values, cultures and lifestyle.

The Arrival

The objective of this program among others is to foster a relationship between the villagers and the students, offering a community service to the villagers and sharing the knowledge they had gained in the various learning institutions, putting them into practice for the benefits of the villagers and exposure to the typical lifestyle of the Malay villagers.


The program ends with a farewell waves between foster families and participants, leaving warm and happy memories of the time spent as a family at the homestay.
 

Motivational courses are also available for students or corporate personnels at our homestay. The motivational courses will be integrated with the homestay program to add color creating a more exciting program and environment or participants. An enjoyable time and a peaceful mind here at Sg Tengi Homestay, Hulu Selangor. We welcome you with a warm hospitality.

  • Entrance fee to palm oil factory, animal farm, fruit farm, fish pond, firefly-watching

  • Cultural performance – ghazal/ traditional dance/ silat/ kompang
    Mock-up wedding

  • Demonstrations of batik vase/ traditional kuih making

  • Demonstration of traditional games

  • Transportation during program within the vicinity of the homestay

  • PA system for opening & closing ceremonies

Proposed itinerary for a 3 days/ 2 nights program for students’
Foster-family homestay program

 Day 1

  • Arrival at Desa Maju
    Sg Tengi (afternoon)

  • Buffet Lunch with host families

  • Adjourn to host family houses

  • Home Industry tour
    Assemble at community hall for demonstratioin of ketupat weaving and story telling of Selangor History

  • Return to host family houses for dinner

  • Mock-up Malay wedding ceremony/kompang/silat/
    traditional dance/ghazal

  • Return to respective homes, retire for the nigh

   Day 2

  • Breakfast at home

  • Assemble at community hall and depart for palm oil factory visit/ palm oil plantation visit

  • Arrival at animal farm
    Arrival at fruit & fish farm

  • Tour of the fruit farm

  • Fishing

  • Barbeque

  • Return to respective homes

  • Assemble at the community hall for demonstration of batik vase making & traditional games i.e. congkak, batu seremban

  • Return to host family homes for dinner

  • Assemble at community hall
    Departure to Kg Bkt Belimbing for firefly-watching

  • Return to Sg Tengi & retire for the night

   Day 3

  • Breakfast at home

  • Assemble at community hall for closing ceremony of homestay program
